And don’t let it infect the way you interact with – and react to – the world around you. Sometimes, y’all, there isn’t a nefarious plot to break your spirit. Sometimes people are just really busy.

So before you fly off the handle at your bff/beau/mom/sister for ignoring you for six hours, or forgetting something you told them, or needing some alone time, remember this: you are wonderful, but you are not the center of the universe, so cut people some slack, mmkay?

EDIT: I wrote this before I heard the news of the great David Bowie passing. He was a true icon, a shining example of what it means to live authentically and give zero cares to convention. He was an artist in the most honest sense of the word, and his art will live forever. May he rest in peace.
