TIME.
Listen, I know a lot of people don’t necessarily respect my time once I leave the office. They assume that I can just float around and wait for them to do things, and that I don’t actually need to sleep. Or do laundry. Or go to the grocery store. Or clean my room.
But I do. I need to do all of those things, and more.
Last night, I realized that I need to stop letting people take advantage of my time and talent and art, because my life is more important than Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dork’s coffee klatsch on the phone while I’m waiting for a decision.
It’s time you, my fellow filmmakers and artists, realized that about yourselves, too.
Stop donating your work. Stop donating your time.
Start demanding respect for yourself and your art.
