Well, mostly. I’ll cop to the Chinese food I had, and the irrepressible need for chocolate cream pie earlier in the week (listen, PMS is a beast).
But aside from that, I’ve done pretty well with the whole “eating things that will make my body feel good” thing.
Thanksgiving is coming up, though, and I’m not quite sure how to handle my overwhelming sentimental desire for loaded mashed potatoes and fancy stuffing.
Maybe I’ll just go the smoothie route for the week and indulge on Thursday?
To that end, here’s a super healthy smoothie recipe if you’re wondering exactly how I plan to handle the next four days leading up to Thanksgiving Cheat Day…
1.5 bananas worth of frozen banana slices
1/4 cup of frozen pineapple pieces
1 cup fresh berries (whatever’s on sale)
3 cups baby kale/spinach/super greens mix
1 cup water (or pure coconut water)
1/4 cup flax seed meal
Throw the banana, pineapple, and water into a blender. Use the ice setting for five pulses or so, then toss in the greens and berries. Blend until smooth, then add in the flax seed meal and continue blending, adding more water if it looks too thick. Enjoy!
